Reef Resilience: Building Resilience into Coral Reef Conservation

Help

The Reef Resilience (R2) website, including the Toolkit modules, is designed to be easy and intuitive to use in modern browsers. If you are using a CD version on an unconnected computer, you will not be able to access offsite links, including videos, but all other features will be identical to the live website. If you encounter any problems that are not addressed here, contact us.

Javascript: Many features of the site, including the navigation menus, require that Javascript be enabled in your browser.

Navigating the Reef Resilience Toolkit Modules:

Each Toolkit module has a left-hand navigation menu similar to the topic menu on this page. However, the Toolkit menus are longer, and they can be completely expanded to view the entire module's structure. The Toolkit menu shows you where you are at any time.

In addition, at the top of each page is a “breadcrumb” trail, showing the path to the current page.

Finally, Previous and Next links at the top right of each page allow you to progress through a module sequentially.

Offsite Links: Links to other websites, including PDF documents on other websites, open in separate windows when you click them, allowing you to retain your place on R2.

Documents: Links to PDF and PowerPoint documents on this site will open in separate windows when you click them. Depending on your browser, your Download window will open and the document will show that it is being downloaded to your computer. Even if your computer is not connected to the internet while you are using a CD version of R2, these documents are available on the CD and will open. In the Toolkit, the size of the local document will be shown next to the download link.

Large Illustrations: Toolkit pages include certain graphs, maps, and other illustrations that can be viewed full-sized. These full-sized versions open in a separate window when you click on the illustration. Modern browsers may initially display the illustration at less than full size to fit in the window (making it look fuzzy), but let you click on it to Expand or Reduce the size. The older Internet Explorer 6 requires you to click until you see an icon like the one to the right, then click on the icon to Expand (the image) To Regular Size.

Flash Player: Videos that play on this site require Adobe Flash Player. To be sure your browser has the most up to date plugin, go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ and select Get Adobe Flash Player. Follow the installation instructions, which differ by browser and operating system.

Video: All videos shown on these pages reside on other sites. Each can be viewed in a video player embedded in the R2 page. Your browser may ask if you want to allow incoming content or pop-up windows from video.google.com, and you will have to adjust your settings to allow them. If your computer is not connected to the internet, the video player will not be visible.

Sound: If you do not hear anything when a video or audio clip is playing, check the Volume on your computer.
