The latest version of the Reef Resilience (R2) Toolkit is a must for managers. The two Toolkit modules, Coral Reefs and Fish Spawning Aggregations, provide coral reef managers with guidance on building resilience to climate change into the design of MPAs and daily management activities. Introduction to Resilience

What do we mean by Reef Resilience? What are the four principles of resilience? What is the difference between resilience and resistance? Get the basics in this section before exploring further.

Case Studies

Practitioners around the globe have been working to integrate resilience principles into their reef management activities. Check out this section to find case studies and stories from the field.

Resilience Training

The Nature Conservancy's Reef Resilience training and capacity building program includes a free online reef course, regional resilience training workshops for coral reef managers, and a training of trainers course, in Zanzibar, Tanzania, in 2013. The self-paced course is now also available in Bahasa, with a Spanish version coming in June 2013.

Publications and Resources

MPA and Coral Reef Publications contains summaries of the latest science on coral reef resilience and management, and articles about corals and climate change. MPA Web Resources address a variety of issues surrounding MPAs and coral reef management. Social and Economic Resources address socioeconomic issues associated with management of coral reefs and MPAs. Partner Resources contains a compilation of products developed by institutions and agencies working together to increase resilience in tropical marine ecosystems. Video Resources compiles links to videos on this and other marine resilience sites.
